SUMMARY

Fernando Arias F. joined the firm in 2014 and became a partner in 2022. Mr. Arias is the Head of the Real Estate and Hospitality practice group, and Co-Head of the ARIFA Pro Bono and CSR Committee.

Mr. Arias routinely represents diverse clients on a broad range of corporate matters, including domestic and cross-border financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, infrastructure projects and other corporate transactions.

He has extensive experience in complex mergers and acquisitions transactions spanning a variety of sectors including banking, retail, health, insurance, hospitality and transportation. In addition, Mr. Arias regularly advises banks, corporates and financial institutions, as both lenders and borrowers, on cross-border and domestic syndicated lending, acquisition finance and structured finance transactions.

Mr. Arias firmly believes in the potential of the tourism and hospitality sectors in Panama. He has spearheaded the creation of the country´s first legal practice dedicated to hospitality services and has worked with sponsors and founders closely in the development and financing of several landmark tourism projects across the country.

From 2012 to 2013, Mr. Arias worked in New York with Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett LLP, representing underwriters and issuers in a variety of capital markets transactions, with focus on Latin America.
