SUMMARY

Rosa Restrepo joined the firm in 1989 and became a partner in 1995.
Ms. Restrepo specializes in providing advice to corporate and private clients in various areas, comprising corporate services, tax residency, estate planning, including the creation of trusts and private interest foundations. Her advice includes guiding clients with compliance with the new challenges presented by international regulatory standards in corporate and asset structuring.

Ms. Restrepo focuses on advising multigenerational families on all aspects of their wealth structures and maintains an international reputation for creating sustainable trust structures that integrate good corporate governance. She specializes in cross-border estate planning issues with a particular focus on families requiring the application of Civil Law as well as Common Law to their structures and underlying assets. She has acquired a wealth of knowledge and practice from her rol as a director of two BVI licensed trust companies.

Ms. Restrepo also helps clients adapt to the new challenges resulting from international standards on corporate structuring. She also offers a broad expertise in assisting international clients with the implementation of FATCA, CRS and other pieces of foreign legislation that may affect their structures and activities.

As a member of STEP, she has chaired the Panama chapter and actively participates in the STEP Conference Committees in the Caribbean and Latin America.

With deep broad-based experience in privatizations, government concessions, public contracts and administrative law, she also participates in the firm’s Government Contracts and Permits Group, where she has assisted leading multinational and Panamanian companies in establishing and starting their businesses in the Republic of Panama.
