Arias, Fábrega & Fábrega represented Sony Corporation in the protection against infringement of Sony IP rights. Sony, like many other companies with well-known brand names, is victim of falsification by third parties.

ARIFA, acting  for Sony, in a joint effort with the Customs Office, managed to stop importation of 653 counterfeit TVs to Panamanian territory and prevented re-exportation to the Americas.

This effort sends a strong message to the region that Sony will not tolerate acts of infringement of its Intellectual Property Rights. The action of destruction serves as a deterrent to potential infringers doing business through the Colon Free Zone.
