Arias, Fábrega & Fábrega acted as counsel to Citibank, N.A., Panama Branch, in connection with the structuring of a US$17.5 million non-recourse collection rights purchase facility entered into with Construtora Norberto Odebrecht, S.A. This would be used to finance additional works related to the design and construction of the landmark "Cinta Costera" a 2.6-km coastal highway on a reclamation area in one of Panama most exclusive areas.

Significant legal issues were tackled, such as mitigating the risk of the government exercising set-off rights under the construction contract against the collection rights already assigned by the contractor to the bank. 

ARIFA also acted in the initial financing of the "Cinta Costera" in the amount of US$179 million.
