Arias, Fábrega & Fábrega acted as local counsel to Yamasa Sangyo Aircraft CMP3 and CMP4 Kumiai, as lessor, and BNP Paribas, New York Branch, as security agent, in connection with the financing and structuring of operating leases for the third and fourth of six (6) Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft delivered to COPA Airlines, the most important airline in Panama and one of the leading airlines in Latin America.

The transaction was handled by a multidisciplinary team at ARIFA, led by partner Pilar Castillo, Co-Head of our Transportation: Maritime and Aviation group, and carried out with the central participation of international senior associate Isabella De La Guardia, international associate Guillermo Ferrer, and associate Angie Sánchez.
