Solving discrepancy with ACODECO in favour of Nivea

According to Panamanian Health Registration Law, cosmetic creams are not required to label expiration date.
Nevertheless, ACODECO (the National Authority for the Consumer Protection and Defence of Competition) insisted that according to their regulations, all products were required by law to label the corresponding expiration date. ACODECO's exigencies were affecting small retailers who therefore preferred no to buy more NIVEA products, affecting our client's sales and distribution business.

The ARIFA IP team obtained an opinion by MINSA (Panamanian Ministry of Health) in the best interests of of its client, stating that no cosmetic creams were required by law to label the product's expiration date.

With this opinion, the client was able to continue the sale and distribution of his product NIVEA.
