Law Firm of the Year, Panama, IFLR (2012)
ARIFA continues to receive honors from the prestigious International Financial Law Review (IFLR), which has awarded the firm with the 2012 Americas Award for Panama Law Firm of the Year.
This is the first time this distinction has been awarded specifically for a Panama law firm. Previously, ARIFA was the unprecedented three-time consecutive winner of the Central America Law Firm of the Year (2009 - 2011).
In 2011, ARIFA lawyers advised on deals that were innovative and of strategic importance for Panama and Latin America. The firm continues to lead the way on critical matters:
• IFC’s $160 million financing for the largest Greenfield geothermal project in Central America
• The strategic reorganization of the Panama Stock Exchange and Latin Clear
• Global Bank’s $395 million acquisition financing and first bond issued by state-owned ENA
• LAN Airline’s acquisition of AIRES (Colombia’s second largest airline)
The IFLR Awards recognize those law firms specializing in the financial markets that demonstrated particular innovation and excellence in financial law in 2011.
ARIFA consistently demonstrates the ability to work on strategic cross-border deals, solve domestic issues to improve Panama’s future, and innovate for projects that have long-term benefits for the region. This proven excellence is what distinguishes ARIFA and led to this most recent honor.
ARIFA partner Ricardo M Arango and senior associate Julianne Canavaggio attended the event, held March 29th in New York, to accept this award.
For ARIFA, the selection from IFLR is rewarding because it reinforces the firm’s drive to provide the best possible solutions to help its clients.
