With 10 years of practice as a lawyer with the Global Finance Group at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy in New York, Cecilio has had significant experience in advising leading financial institutions in connection with cross-border financial transactions in Latin America.  

Cecilio's addition to ARIFA's team of top finance and corporate lawyers is a demonstration of the firm's commitment to serving clients with excellence and innovation. 

Cecilio's practice will focus on international aspects of banking and finance; capital markets; and mergers and acquisitions.

Pilar Castillo

Prior to joining the firm, Pilar worked as legal counsel to the Panama Maritime Authority's Directorate General of Merchant Marine. She participated in the discussion and implementation of regulations issued pursuant to Law 57 of 2008 (General Merchant Marine Law), and several Merchant Marine Circulars.

Pilar also contributed to the analysis of documents for the 2009 General Assembly and the 2009 Council of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). 

Pilar joins ARIFA's extraordinary team of experts in the field of maritime law.  Her practice will focus primarily on ship registration and ship financing.

Carin Stelp

Carin is a dynamic lawyer with previous experience at Blake, Cassels & Graydon in Vancouver, Canada, and international organizations.  

Carin joins the team of ARIFA lawyers who specialize in advising multinational companies in connection with their investments and operations in Panama. 

Her practice will focus on international aspects of commercial transactions and contracts; government permits and administrative matters, with special emphasis on operations in special economic zones; and real estate and property.
