ARIFA wins three deal of the year awards by Marine Money Offshore (2013)

Panama, June 2013. This year Marine Money Offshore announced its first Offshore Finance Deal of the Year awards. The awards were presented during during NOR SHIPPING week in Oslo, Norway.

ARIFA’s participation in the three awarded deals on Export Credit, Public Equity and Private Equity, together with other recognized lawfirms, were among the 10 categories in the 2012 awards. The deals were chosen from more than 100 nominations. These represent a spectrum of transactions that have raised financings for ambitious offshore projects around the world.

ARIFA acted as Panamanian counsel to owners and lenders in the Export Credit Deal of the Year: US$547 million project financing for La Muralla IV drilling platform in Mexico; to owners and the financial institutions representing the underwriters, lead by Citigroup Global Markets Inc. in the US$221 million Seadrill Partners IPO, winner of the Public Equity Deal of the Year, and listed on the NY Stock Exchange; and to owners and trustee/mortgagee’s in the Private Equity Deal of the Year for its work on the US$245 million Oro Negro capital-raising in Mexico.

Jorge Loaiza attended the three transactions on ARIFA’s end, with the support of its Shipping Department under the leadership of Roy C Durling, and with the assistance of Pilar Castillo in the Oro Negro project.

All deals were cross-border financings, an ARIFA specialty.
